RANDALL’S ISLAND PARK ALLIANCE
25th ANNIVERSARY GALA HONOREES

RICHARD & CHRISTINE MACK

As we gather to celebrate the Randall’s Island Park Alliance’s 25th Anniversary, we could not be more proud to honor Richard and Christine Mack for their outstanding commitment to providing New Yorkers with a big, beautiful backyard at Randall’s Island Park. The devoted parents of three growing sons, the Macks understand the importance of fresh air and exercise to children’s development – and find these in abundance at Randall’s Island Park. Through their generous support of RIPA and many other child-centered charities, Richard and Chris make it possible for all of our city’s children to grow healthy and strong.

RECIPIENT OF THE
CHAMPION FOR CHILDREN AWARD

MARK TEIXEIRA

Former New York Yankee first baseman Mark Teixeira is a three-time Major League Baseball All-Star and World Series Champion. As a treasured New York athlete, Mark has been a model for our city’s youth to always work hard and do their very best. He has brought his great passion and success on the field to local neighborhoods, fostering sports and educational opportunities for the children of East Harlem and the South Bronx. Many of these children play at Randall’s Island Park, and attend RIPA’s free summer camp.

MASTER OF CEREMONIES

BRIAN SULLIVAN

Brian Sullivan has been a financial journalist and broadcaster for 20 years.  He is currently co-anchor of CNBC’s “Power Lunch,“ as well as being a frequent guest on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and other NBC properties, including the 2014 winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.  He has been twice nominated for the prestigious Loeb Award. And as a former rugby player and still fan, he really appreciates all the green space Randall’s Island provides, even if no other sport really compares to rugby.

For 25 years, THE RANDALL’S ISLAND PARK ALLIANCE (RIPA) has partnered with the City, local communities and our generous supporters to develop and sustain Randall’s Island Park for all New Yorkers – from athletes to artists, from children to seniors, and from amateurs to world champions. RIPA has worked to expand community and youth programs, restore the Island’s natural ecosystems, and foster healthy and active lifestyles through the maintenance and care of 330 acres of parkland, including more than half of Manhattan’s playing fields. Going forward into our next quarter century, RIPA’s mission is to ensure that Randall’s Island Park remains an innovative and exciting destination for all New Yorkers.
